Merchant Area Sales Manager - Southern Region

Schiedel Chimney Systems Ltd. is looking for a Junior/Graduate who is looking to develop within the role of a Merchant Area Sales Manager based in the Southern Region.

Reporting to:  Stephen Dodds, Key Account Manager – Independent Merchants and Buying Groups

Function: Sales

Country: United Kingdom

Key Purpose Statement

  • Responsible for targeting merchant prospects & existing merchant customers at branch level, in national and independent merchants and buying groups covering both residential steel and mineral sales.
  • Responsible for converting merchant prospects into new customers in line with agreed goals and developing sales growth in existing merchant customer outlets.

Outputs & Accountabilities

  • Working to convert agreed merchant prospects as assigned by the KAM.
  • Develop the sales of steel & mineral flues in the assigned areas.
  • Liaising with the internal customer service team, key account managers, area sales managers, technical support and marketing to maintain the highest standards of customer support.
  • Actively using the sales support tools provided by the company (i-snapshot & barbour).
  • Supporting the merchant branches as required with breakfast mornings and other events as agreed with KAM’s.
  • Other duties as may be required (attendance at exhibitions etc.)

Knowledge & Experience Required

  • Knowledge of sales, customer service principles and techniques including cold calling.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (excel, power point).

Roles, Skills & Attributes Required

  • Understanding of customers and their requirements/issues.
  • The ability to quickly understand and apply technical concepts.
  • Current clean driving license.
