Challenge
The main challenge of the project was the need for accurate scheduling and compatibility with regard to both the connection to the freestanding chimneys and the connection to the gensets, through the fabrication of special made-to-measure flanges, graphite joints, and specific fittings according to site specifications. The delivery and installation of our modular ductwork connection had to coordinate in time and manner with the delivery of the freestanding chimneys.
Solution
Schiedel supplied the modular ducts for the smoke ducts connected to the self-supporting chimneys, in the ICS 5000 25 mm insulation version with a section diameter of 400 mm. ICS 5000 has high performance in terms of pressure resistance (designation H1, up to 5000 Pa) and high temperature resistance (T600), is suitable for appliances with both natural gas and oil and diesel fuel supply, and thanks to tailor-made components such as flanged fittings, graphite joints, and specific inspections is particularly versatile for systems connected to power engines and generator sets.
