Challenge
The main challenge of the project was to choose a flue system that could meet multiple performance and requirements, and ensure safety and efficiency in combination with a high-power biomass generator (Hargassner model). This demanded a solution ensuring both efficiency and optimal interaction with the advanced unit. A further key requirement was the rapid timing of design, supply, and installation, in keeping with a compact and time-constrained work schedule.
Solution
Schiedel supplied the ICS chimney system, which is particularly suitable for biomass, wood, wood chips, and pellet applications due to its high temperature resistance and maximum designation for corrosion resistance (V3). For biomass boiler application, special elements equipped with draft control valves were included in the configuration. The finish of the terminals to the roof was requested by the customer with RAL painted terminals according to the project specifications.
The Customer
The customer is an installer based in Brittany, northwest France, specializing in technological systems in civil, commercial, and industrial buildings, as well as complex heating systems for multi-story buildings, both residential and in the service sector. The customer turned to Schiedel not only for the high performance of its products but also for its excellent service from the project drafting stages through to site inspection and support on site
