Data Center Hauts-de-France

  • Non-Residential
  • Carried out in France in 2024
  • Product(s) used:  ICS 5000
  • Datacenter
This project involved the construction and installation of three freestanding chimneys, each around 14 meters high and with a large cross-section. These were supplied and installed by a specialist partner to supply three generators in a large data center in the Hauts-de-France region. The chimneys connected to the units were manufactured using our ICS 5000 system with a cross-section of 400 mm.

Challenge

The project's core challenge was ensuring precise planning/timing and seamless compatibility between our modular chimney systems, the freestanding chimneys, and the generators. This required the custom fabrication of specialized flanges, graphite gaskets, and site-specific fittings. Furthermore, the delivery and installation of our systems had to be meticulously coordinated with the arrival of the freestanding chimneys.

Solution

Schiedel supplied the project's modular chimneys, connecting them to the freestanding chimneys. These were our ICS 5000 system with 25 mm insulation and a 400 mm cross-sectional diameter. The ICS 5000 is highly resistant to pressure (H1, up to 5000 Pa) and temperature (T600), making it suitable for appliances fueled by natural gas, oil, or diesel. Its versatility for power engines and generator sets applications is further enhanced by customized components like flange connections, graphite sleeves, and specialized testing capabilities.
