Challenge
The construction of luxury superyachts places very high demands on all integrated systems. This project had several challenges, which had to be carried out on a tight schedule. Space in the superstructure was limited, where flue gases had to be properly disposed of in narrow shafts. This also required good thermal control of the outer wall. Finally, noise performance was important. Engine noise in the exhaust had to be predicted and reduced for onboard comfort. This was necessary so that noise pollution could also not occur.
Solution
Schiedel offered a customized package with a single point of contact. Specific and compact AD systems were developed for the limited installation space. This included two AD DN250 mm systems for main generators and one AD DN180 mm system for the hotel load generator. The components are made of high-quality 316L stainless steel with a Bright Annealed (BA) finish. These are suitable for the marine environment. Acoustic performance was ensured by three absorption dampers. As an extension of engineering, the Schiedel installation team ensured a perfect and efficient assembly, which was crucial for meeting the tight project schedule.

The yacht builder is a global player with a focus on limited edition superyachts and uniform quality through series construction. The successful delivery, including the professional installation of generators, sound attenuation and exhausts is crucial in this regard. Uninterrupted planning, with the flawless transfer of the first yacht to the owner, laid the foundation for the sales success of all superyachts in this series.
