Schiedel implemented a range of flue gas, baking vapor, and cooling air ducts for an international producer of exclusive pasta and bakery products. This project was essential to the success of a new production line, where high standards for food safety and operational efficiency were paramount. Sustainability was equally central to the mission. The work was completed exactly as intended.

Challenge

The challenge lay in designing, manufacturing and installing ducts for both fumes, baking fumes and cooling air within one new production line. This required complex calculations and design for the diameters required: 180 mm, 200 mm, 450 mm, 500 mm, 800 mm and 1000 mm. The seamless integration of this multitude of ductwork into the existing architecture, while requiring compliance with the food industry's strict hygiene regulations, was the crux of this project.

Solution

Schiedel delivered a fully integrated system with a focus on maximum process and product safety. All flue gas, baking vapor and cooling air ducts including the corresponding roof penetrations were specifically manufactured to size. Electrically controlled control valves were integrated into the ducts to control the various air flows. Important for the final result was the choice of materials. All our systems and fasteners are made of high-quality stainless steel. This ensures maximum hygiene and durability. The insulated ducts led to a measurable decrease in heat emission in the production hall. This resulted in a more pleasant and safer working environment for the personnel, which emphasizes the added value of the customized work.

The Customer

The client, a global player in pasta production, strengthened its market position through this project. The new installation immediately provided significant upscaling: the capacity of the production lines increased by more than half. Moreover, the use of insulated ducts directly contributed to an improved internal climate. This was done accordingly.
